Water Cycle
This week we are learning all about the water cycle! Some of the key terms in this unit include:
1. evaporation
2. condensation
3. precipitation
4. rain
Learning about the water cycle is part of our science TEKS (Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills). Your child should be able to describe and illustrate the water cycle.
Here are some internet links that will help your child review and learn about the water cycle.
At this Water Cycle Game website, your child can manipulate water, sending it through the stages of the water cycle while reading about what is happening in each stage. It gives them a great visual of what actually happens during this process.
At the Fun Facts Water Cycle Website, you and your child can learn some very fun, interesting facts about water and the water cycle. There are also activity and color pages at the bottom of the page that you can print out for your child.
This next website is very cool! It provides two very easy hands-on experiments you can do with your child to help them understand condensation and water being in the air. There is also a fun water cylce comic at the top of the page you could read together.
Have fun learning about the Water Cycle! Maybe you could talk with your child about what is happening next time it rains, you see clouds, steam, or a river! Thanks for being involved with your chid's education! I'll post more next week!
