Measurement!

Measure up!

This week we are learning about measurement and the tools we can use to measure. These tools range from clocks, to thermometers, to rulers. I have some fun activity pages for you to visit with your child this week to help them learn these objectives.

This first site is one of my favorite games! It is called Gone Fishin'. Your child gets to help the cartoon fisherman catch fish and measure them. They also get to put the fish they see in order from shortest to longest and pick the biggest fish. This one is so much fun!!

Learning about temperature is very imporant especially now that it's starting to get cold outside! Try looking at this Interactive Thermometer website with your child. As you move the thermometer different pictures pop up to show you objects or weather that are characterized by that temperature.

Does anybody know what time it is? Clock time! Help your child get a better grasp on telling time by visiting the Minute March! This game will help your student tell time in minutes. It correlates the actual numbers on the clock (1,2, 3 ...) with minutes (5 minutes, 10 minutes, etc.) The clock does a back flip every time you get one right!

Hopefully these activities will help your child grasp the idea of measurement and the tools we use. Thanks for checking in this week! I'll post again soon!
